Build greater independence, confidence and participation with personalised Occupational Therapy delivered across Perth.

Our Occupational Therapists work with children, teenagers and adults to understand the challenges affecting their everyday lives. We provide practical, evidence-based assessments and interventions tailored to each person’s abilities, environment, routines and goals.

U & A Homecare supports NDIS participants, Medicare and DVA clients, and privately funded clients across Perth.

Personalised Occupational Therapy That Fits Your Life

Occupational Therapy helps people participate more confidently and independently in the activities that matter to them.

This can include personal care, household activities, communication, education, employment, relationships, community participation and the development of everyday life skills.

At U & A Homecare, we look beyond a diagnosis or individual difficulty. We take the time to understand the whole person, including their home environment, routines, sensory needs, support network and personal goals.

From our base in Piara Waters, we provide mobile Occupational Therapy services across Perth in homes, community settings and other appropriate environments.

Who We Support

Our Occupational Therapy services may support people experiencing:

  • Autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions
  • Intellectual disability
  • Psychosocial disability and mental health challenges
  • Dementia and cognitive changes
  • Physical or functional limitations
  • Sensory processing differences
  • Difficulties completing everyday activities
  • Reduced independence at home or in the community
  • Challenges participating in education, employment or social activities

Every person’s circumstances are different. Our Occupational Therapists complete an individual assessment before recommending suitable supports and interventions.

Not Sure Which OT Service You Need?

Our Occupational
Therapy Services

Our Occupational Therapists provide a range of assessments and interventions based on each client’s individual needs and goals.

Functional Capacity Assessments

A Functional Capacity Assessment examines how a person’s disability or health condition affects their ability to complete everyday activities. Our Occupational Therapists assess areas such as personal care, mobility, communication, social participation, household tasks and community access. Clear recommendations can then be provided to support future planning, service and equipment decisions.

Activities of Daily Living Assessments

We assess a person’s ability to complete essential daily activities such as dressing, showering, preparing meals, managing household tasks and moving safely through their environment. Our recommendations focus on improving safety, confidence and independence while identifying areas where further support may be beneficial.

Cognitive and Functional Assessments

Cognitive and functional assessments can help identify difficulties involving attention, memory, planning, problem-solving and completing everyday tasks. Our Occupational Therapists use the findings to recommend practical strategies, environmental changes and appropriate supports.

Home and Living Assessments

We assess how effectively a person’s current living environment supports their safety, independence and long-term needs. This may include identifying barriers within the home, reviewing existing supports and recommending strategies or changes that improve everyday function.

Home Modification Assessments

Our Occupational Therapists can assess the home environment and recommend modifications intended to improve accessibility, safety and independence. Recommendations are based on the person’s functional needs, goals and living arrangements.

Assistive Technology Assessments

The right assistive technology can make everyday activities safer, easier and more independent. Our Occupational Therapists assess the person’s needs and environment before recommending appropriate equipment or assistive technology solutions.

Sensory Assessments and Intervention

Sensory processing differences can affect eating, movement, emotional regulation, concentration and participation in everyday activities. We assess how sensory experiences affect the individual and develop practical strategies for daily routines at home and in the community.

Daily Living and Independence Skills

We help clients develop practical skills for greater independence, including personal care, meal preparation, household routines, planning, organisation and community access.

Community Participation

Our Occupational Therapists help identify and address barriers that may prevent participation in social, recreational, educational or community activities.

Mental Health and Psychosocial Support

We provide person-centred Occupational Therapy for people whose mental health or psychosocial disability affects daily function, routines and participation.

Therapy Programs and Capacity Building

We develop personalised therapy programs that help clients build and practise skills between appointments. Where appropriate, programs can be implemented with family, carers, support workers or U & A Homecare Therapy Assistants.

Take the Next Step Towards
Greater Independence

Occupational Therapy for Autism and Sensory Needs

Our Occupational Therapists support autistic children, teenagers and adults with challenges that may affect sensory regulation, daily routines, self-care, feeding, social participation and independence.

Our approach respects each person’s communication style, preferences, strengths and sensory profile. We focus on practical strategies that help the individual participate more comfortably and confidently in everyday life.

Where nutrition or feeding challenges are also present, our Occupational Therapists can collaborate with U & A Homecare’s Accredited Practising Dietitians.
